1. Save time and enhance compliance with Patient Service Reminders 

On busy days, does your team forget to double check patient service reminders before the client is out the door? Then you have to call them again and ask them to come back in, leading to time that could have been spent elsewhere.

Shepherd eliminates this hassle with patient service reminders that live right in your SOAP. You don’t even have to toggle to another page! At-a-glance visibility ensures that crucial health exams, vaccines, and services are not missed – which equals improved outcomes and better medicine. You’ll see upcoming patient service reminders when creating or updating an appointment or boarding reservation, as well as within the SOAP signalment header.

2. Customizable Production Users for better team workflow

Running a successful veterinary practice is about working smarter, not harder! Shepherd’s new Customizable Production Users feature includes a customizable user field that makes it easy to analyze doctor/tech team performance, identify high-performing combinations, and pinpoint areas where targeted support and leadership can drive improved outcomes. The production user defaults to the prescribing doctor but can also be assigned manually for better performance tracking. 

3. Get clarity with Activity Logs & Tracking

Do you wish you had greater transparency and insights into user access activity? With our new activity log on the Admin → Users page, you’ll get enhanced central visibility into user logins and logouts. Management-level users get a clear and accessible record of account access events, including:

  • Login details (whether an email address or a PIN via the lock screen was used)
  • Password reset events
  • Logout events

4. Increase efficiency with Inventory Barcode Scanning

We’re excited to introduce barcode capabilities for inventory items, enhancing efficiency in product and inventory lookup and management! You’ll enjoy streamlined inventory handling, making searches and accurate product retrieval efficient and seamless. Key features include:

  • Define Barcodes for Inventory Items – Barcodes can now be assigned to inventory items for quick identification.
  • Barcode Scanning for All Searches – All search fields now instantly recognize barcodes associated with products and inventory items.
  • No Equipment Restrictions – Barcode scanning is compatible with all known scanning hardware.

5. Streamline client communications with Appointment SMS notifications

Our updated Appointment SMS Notifications make it easy to ensure accurate identification of the associated patient. You can now include a patient ID in both appointment SMS notification message templates and forms, making it easier to connect individual patients with the communications you have sent or are planning to send.
