1. Save time with electronic estimates

You can now easily share estimates and collect client approval signatures prior to an upcoming visit. Electronic estimates allow you to clarify minimum visit charges, streamline planned visits and surgery days by simplifying the dropoff process, and reduce last-minute cost discussions, safeguarding both your clinic and your clients.

Electronic estimates created from the patient page offer a direct link or an email communication to send to clients. They can then provide an electronic signature similar to Shepherd’s existing form features.

2. Unlock new possibilities with Shepherd OpenAPI

Introducing Shepherd OpenAPI – Shepherd’s newest user-accessible Open API feature! Users can explore connecting Shepherd with external platforms to create additional specific customizations such as time-saving automations, notifications, record and address lookups, enhanced workflows, and more. Unlock new possibilities and a more streamlined user experience with a seamless data relay customized to your particular clinic needs.

3. Increase efficiency with inventory lot tracking

Are you bogged down with completing lot entries for each retail item code? Then you’ll love Shepherd’s new inventory lot tracking feature, which lets you define lots for all inventory items during the purchase order receiving process. 

Lot level information for any existing vaccine or controlled item will remain intact until inventory lot features are enabled. At that time, any existing lots will automatically be transferred to the linked inventory item. 

4. Customize your invoices for better client communication

Communicate with clients in the way that works best for your practice. Our new invoice customization settings allow you to choose what types of information you share on client invoices, helping to improve compliance of care with options for patient reminders and upcoming appointments. You’ll reduce missed appointments and keep your clients up to date on your care recommendations!

5. Streamline regulatory reporting with new client profile fields

Shepherd takes the stress out of regulatory reporting and medical handing requirements with our new client profile information fields. You can now input information for: 

• Client DOB
• Client gender (options align with current regulatory reporting specifications)
• Client driver’s license number, state, and expiration date

All fields are optional, and are also included in existing Client and Prescription reports.

6. Enhanced reporting makes practice administration a breeze

Our robust reporting features just got even better! Check out five of our latest updates:

• Client Type Setting: you can now assign a client type classification to client profiles. This additional client categorization adds analytical capabilities as well as ease of reference when viewing profiles. 
• New SOAP Report: get in-depth insights into SOAP activity and evaluate productivity and performance. View assigned team members, timestamps between status changes, and related financial metrics. 
• New Discount Report: see a breakdown of applied discounts by type, including original prices, discount amounts, discount percentages, and final adjusted price – plus an overview of discount total sums.
• New Purchase Order History Report: evaluate inventory purchase order habits and accounting data around purchasing trends. Generate the report by custom vendor or status advanced filters, or filter data while viewing the report.
• Pin Columns: Missing the “freeze column” option from Excel? Then you’re in luck! You can now freeze columns in reports for easier scrolling through multiple columns and large amounts of data.
